AGLF’s Adopt-A-Family: Make Christmas Happen for Kids Who Need It Most

The holidays aren’t supposed to be about juggling stress, stretching paychecks, or wondering how you’re going to make magic out of thin air. But for many unhoused families, McKinney-Vento students across Alameda, and the children staying at the Midway Shelter, that’s exactly what this season looks like.

That’s where you get to change the story.

AGLF’s Adopt-A-Family for Christmas brings our community together to make sure every child wakes up to something joyful—something picked with love, wrapped with care, and delivered with dignity. And this year, the need is bigger than ever.

Kids are asking for simple things—gifts that remind them they matter. Families referred by schools and shelter staff rely on this program because it’s one of the few bright spots in what can be an incredibly difficult season.

Here’s the good news: you can make an immediate, direct impact.
When you donate a gift, you’re not just handing over an item—you’re giving a kid a moment of pure holiday joy. You’re giving their parents a breath of relief. You’re giving a family hope when they’re running low on it.

And trust us… these gifts land exactly where they’re needed most.

How to Give:

  • Register for a gift for a child or teen

  • Shop and drop it off at the All Good Living Store: 2332 Alameda Ave., Alameda

  • Or send a monetary donation, and we’ll shop on your behalf

It’s simple, it’s local, and it’s community at its absolute best.

Let’s flood Alameda with kindness this Christmas. Let’s show our unhoused youth, our McKinney-Vento students, and our families at Midway Shelter that their city sees them, values them, and won’t let them go through the holidays alone.

One gift. One kid. One moment that lasts all season.
Join us and make Christmas happen.

Register and drop off by Dec. 17th.
