Ways We Work
With the wrap-up of our recent toiletry drive and the success of our incoming donations, I wanted to explain how our foundation works. The process is very simple. We’ve teamed up with the City of Alameda, the Alameda Unified School District, and the Alameda Point Collaborative to reach as many needy people as possible. They help direct us to the specific people who need the most help. The school district provides us with the names of children who are homeless or underprivileged. Then we work our magic!

We’ll hold different events throughout the year, like our past toiletry drive to collect goods. We’ve also been working with local businesses; for example, District Footwear has donated shoes, and Alameda Bicycle has generously donated bikes! We’re also accepting donations at any time. We refer to the list of names from the city or from what the schools provided and start distributing. See! Easy! Another distribution method we use is dropping off a box of goods donated to the schools that have requested them so they already have supplies on hand if a student needs something immediately.
We just spoke with Lizeth Martinez from the Alameda Unified School District, and she told us of a young woman who’s a single mother and attending school. She has an hour and half commute by public transportation but still gets here despite the difficulty of having a child on her own and no personal vehicle. This is just an example of who can get help from us.
If you are interested in donating, we are always looking for these items:
Clothing
Toiletries
Baby items
Food vouchers
Socks & undergarments
Coats & jackets
